Q: Why can’t I pause, rewind or record live TV on my Roku?
A: Pause, Rewind and Record functionality is not available on any Roku devices due to the limitations of the Roku data storage on the device itself. The pause/rewind/record feature works by allocating a certain amount of memory on the local device and is using that as a buffer for the video. Roku has very limited memory onboard and has restrictions on what apps can do.
